After All This Time

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful peaceful day. For me today is wash day. What I mean by wash day is not laundry day, it is the day that I wash my hair (sigh). I sigh because since I am no longer relaxed washing my hair is a process. It can take all day! LOL! There are literally so many steps. Well anyway back to the reason for this post.

I have had a  life long battle with dry itchy scalp. I have tried all kinds of things and remedies that I can think of. About a month ago I received an email from one of the natural hair websites that I follow and one of the articles was titled “The Reason Your Scalp is Dry”. I read the article which consisted of a list of reasons for dry itchy scalp and one of the reasons explained that there could be build up on the scalp that is not washes away with regular shampoo. As I continued to read I learned that my regular shampoo does not have the power to cleansing the scalp of excessive build up and residue. This build up and residue is was causes the scalp to became dry and itchy. In this article the author lists some things you can use to cleanse your scalp of this build up. One of the things listed is apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is used for clarifying, it lifts dirty and residue left behind from styling products.

Needless to say I have added the clarifying step to my wash day and instantly I have seen a difference. There is less itching and dry scalp. I have also added some other product to cleanse and soothe my scalp.

I want to know what you use to clarify you hair and scalp. Comment below.

I hope everyone has a great week. Until next time.
